Odd Fellow Rebekah Museum
112 Front Street, Mineral Point, WI 53545
The Odd Fellow and Rebekah Museum was built in 1838 by Iowa Lodge #1, which in 1835 became the first chartered Odd Fellow lodge when Wisconsin was still a part of the Michigan Territory. The corner stone of the first lodge hall was laid by our American founding father, Thomas Wildey. Iowa Lodge #1 let the building go back to the lien holders in 1843 when they gave up their charter.
For many years the building was a rental property, housing many families. In 1873, Iowa Lodge #1 was reinstated and built a lodge hall on High St. In 1926, Iowa Lodge #1 asked the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin to purchase the original lodge hall (now housing the museum) building to be used for the purpose of a shrine where Odd Fellow artifacts could be preserved and displayed.
Over the years many artifacts have been given to the museum . Additional items are always welcomed. If you wish to place items in our museum, please write down information about the items, such as to what lodge or person they are from.
The Museum is open and free of charge to the public by appointment. You may contact members of Iowa Lodge #1 for a tour. Joel Gosse (608-553-0574). Thomas Heins (608-574-7260), James Heisner (608-341-8937).

Odd Fellow Manor - Hearthside Apartments, Platteville, WI
Odd Fellow Manor was built in 1987 in Platteville as an apartment building for people 55 and over with no income requirements. The complex was named after the Hearthside Hotel that previously occupied the site.
The $1.3 million complex has three stories and consists of 22 apartments, 11 one bedroom and 11 two bedroom units. Four of the apartments have an option room which is a room that is smaller than a bedroom and can be used as an office or a sewing room. The building also contains a community center, a dining room and a lodge hall.
The first floor has five apartments, the dining room and the lodge hall. On the second floor there are eight apartments and the community room. The community room was designed for small social gatherings and any of the tenants can reserve the room for private parties. The community room also has a kitchen, a cloak room and a restroom.
The remainder of the apartments are on the third floor. Every floor has a laundry room and a janitor's room. Funding for the project was by the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin with no government subsidies or support.
